Lake Winnipesaukee, NH: Double Rainbows

....And we all ran out screaming.

Actually, I saw three double rainbows the entire summer, and I never realized just how rare they are.  This one was the most magnificent of the three, and the most shared.

This summer, year, past year and a half, has been a rough and confusing time.  To the max.
These rainbows, sum it up in some crazy way.

Boston, MA: Tatted

We just wanted small tats and ended up going to Empire Tattoo Inc.

and the Ginger Kid got an anchor.

Boston, MA: North End and Canolis

The North End... aka Little Italy.  My absolute favorite part of Boston.

I saw the LoGrasso barber shop again, but lost it... again... I may or may not have extended family here.

We accidentally found this spot on a quest for Canolis.  We saw some tourists with Canolis, asked if they were legit Canolis, and then where they got it.  They said these were the best they've had, and then they pointed us towards Bova's.

.... And I got to introduce more people to Italian pastries and Canolis!!!

West Coast vs East Coast

The camp brought in another Californian!  From the OC.

Which leads me now to want to compare West Coast styles and society to the East Coast vibe... I am still having trouble getting along with the East Coast folk, except for Boston folk it seems.  They are like the Italian/Irish unruly sides of my family.  I can live and party with that.

1. Why is the East Coast so uptight?  Seriously.  Upstate New Yorkers complain way too much, and Vermont, God, don't get me started on Vermont.  Also, in Cali, we see wealth, but not this aristocratic society that you see on the East Coast.  Your last name, family, etc., doesn't mean crap here... unless you're a celebrity. Chill out homies, chill.

2. Preps?  Ivy League kids, seriously, you are not all that much smarter, just richer, sorry to break it to you.  And boarding schools horrify me... I had no clue they were as prominent as they are.

3. The Weather- Holy moses.  The East Coast has got it rough here, but they also have some awesome variation.  I personally love the rain and thunderstorms of the summer, and we don't see that in So Cal.  On the other hand, I don't know if I could survive an East Coast winter.  Props to your resilience.

4. The West Coast is diverse, and its awesome.  In So Cal, you can travel the world within a 50 mile radius.  This is semi-true in NYC, but not nearly as vast.

5. Food. This also equals great and diverse food. yum.

6. Hipsters, hippies, and hip hop rule the West... and rockers, latin vibes, and any form of artist expression.

7. Who owned us? The West Coast was once owned by Spain.  California was once Mexico.  The East Coast was dominated by the other parts of Europe, mostly France, England, and Germany.

8. The Slang.... West Coast: hella/hecka, dude, sweet, awesome, stoked, gnarly, homie, ese, cholo...
East Coast: wicked and a lot of cussing.

9. Dunkin Donuts... I hate you. You aren't real donuts. Yes. I said it. Coffee Bean rules.

10. Personal Space- I do give it to the East Coast folk, I love that you are not afraid of approaching one another, and talking to each other.  I don't know why we are so afraid of doing this here in the West.

11. Style- both have their own awesome styles.  West Coast has more color and flare.  East Coast is more bold and dark toned.

12. Driving- ok, its a SoCal thing... East Coast, you all drive too slow.

13. In-n-out.

14. Beaches- they are better on the West.

15. Mountains- higher in the West, but beautiful in their own ways on both coasts.

16.  BUT... we got it all within reach. Mountains, beaches, valleys, etc.
